- Strengthening our International Commitment
2011 marks NOSHOK's Engineering Manager, Michael Lancaster's 7th year as a mentor in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
Open to 9-12th grade students, and nicknamed "The varsity sport for the mind," FRC combines the excitement of sport with the challenges of science and technology. Under strict guidelines, limited resources, and tight deadlines, teams of are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," develop teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform specific tasks against a field of competitors. It's as close to "real-world engineering" as a student can get. As a volunteer professional mentor, Michael will lend his time and expertise to guide his team.
The 2011 season kicked off on 1/18/11 and robots must be shipped by 2/22/11. More details and results to follow in upcoming newsletters…. Good luck to Michael and his team!
|Q:||What is NOSHOK's plan for growing export sales in the future?|
Receiving the Excellence in Exporting Award from the Ohio Department of State last year was a true honor. To be acknowledged and recognized among so many companies is very humbling, and it makes us appreciate even more the importance of what we do and the value it provides. Most importantly, it motivates us to continue growing our business and expanding into different markets worldwide.
In 2010, NOSHOK established more than 28 new partnerships outside of the United States, in countries such as Mexico, Qatar, China, Ecuador, Canada, Vietnam, and Colombia. In the next few years, NOSHOK expects to increase its presence in other markets such as Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa. The execution of this international expansion program also includes a detailed and strategic plan that will triple export sales for the company by 2015.
At NOSHOK, we are excited about these plans and remain committed to continue offering high quality products and excellent support to all of our distribution partners and customers worldwide.
We have recently joined the United States Saudi Arabian Business Council to underscore our commitment to our current distributors in this region, as well as to reach out to new business connections and opportunities in this market.
Also, as a member of the Council, NOSHOK will support trade initiatives between Saudi Arabia and the United States, and will participate in trade missions, conferences and special events with Saudi and U.S. government leaders and high officials.
Through ongoing involvement with international organizations and councils such as this one, we will continue our efforts to grow our export presence and provide value to our distributors and end users all over the world.
