NOSHOK 3v3 Soccer Event A Success
Thanks to everyone who came out to support and participate in our 3v3 World Cup Style Soccer Tournament held on June 26th! The event was a great success, with tough competition and fun all around.
12 teams representing the countries in 2010 World Cup competed at the NOSHOK Soccer Fields, and at the end of the day it was South Africa who claimed the victory over Greece. The South Africa team was made up of Wilson Lopez, Jen Slater and Tyler Peairs. Jen and Tyler also won the Men and Women’s Golden Boot awards for most goals scored during the tournament.
Schedule permitting, we’ll be having another 3 v 3 event in October! Click here to see photos from the event.
Another Win for NOSHOK Engineer & First Robotics Team
Congratulations again go to NOSHOK's Engineering Manager Michael Lancaster and his FRC team on winning another contest at the Buckeye Regional FIRST Robotics Competition! For the second consecutive year, Michael's team won the "Visualization Animation" Autodesk Design award, this time with the theme of "Changing the World for the Better with Nanotechnology".
The concept behind the animation is that "Garbage will be dropped off in specialized facilities, where clouds of nanobots will disintegrate the refuse back into base materials, which will be used to create everyday commodities (portrayed by cardboard boxes and aluminum bars in the animation). This technology can be applied to not only the Earth, but also space exploration, where conservation of resources is even more important."
